GDA gains NewTelco as a member, another data center operator that has been firmly established in the telecommunications segment since 2005. The company operates its own state-of-the-art data centers in Frankfurt am Main, Kiev and Tbilisi. NewTelco also has a presence in the world's most important telecommunications locations - including Amsterdam, Cape Town, Hong Kong, London, Stockholm and Vienna.

NewTelco joins GDA

In the second half of 2022, the company plans to open a new data center in Karlstein am Main. Despite its distance of 28 kilometers to Frankfurt am Main, the latencies in the "MainRZ" should hardly be greater than in the Main metropolis. This will be enabled by the partnership with DE-CIX: the NewTelco data center in Frankfurt's Kleyerstraße and the planned data center in Karlstein will be equipped with the network technology of the interconnection operator. "As our colocation business continues to grow, it only makes sense to invest in a larger, more advanced data center to add to our current capacity in Frankfurt. Karlstein is the ideal location, close enough to Frankfurt to ensure top quality connectivity," explains Managing Director Jens Leuchters. With redundant network connectivity, NewTelco is thus bringing the world's largest Internet node to the Aschaffenburg region.

"The urgent challenges of our time can only be met with collaborative efforts and smart ideas," says Anna Klaft, CEO of GDA. "We are pleased to have NewTelco, an experienced and established provider in the European data center industry, as a new member."

Jens Leuchters adds: "Data centers are a job engine, innovative, sustainable and must be understood as indispensable data factories and distribution centers. In order to actively support the data center industry in achieving a much higher political and public awareness, it is important for us to stand shoulder to shoulder with other data center providers - this is what membership in GDA enables us to do."
