GDA welcomes plusserver to the Association

"The basis for cloud services "made in Germany" are own and highly certified data centers in Germany," knows Alexander Wallner, CEO of the plusserver Group. "We are proud of these assets and therefore membership and active participation in the German Datacenter Association is the logical consequence for plusserver. We are looking forward to the cooperation."

As a driver of innovation and value creation, plusserver is committed to a sustainable and data-sovereign Europe. plusserver is a founding member of the European Gaia-X initiative, a project supported by the German government to build a competitive, secure and trustworthy data infrastructure for Europe. Together with partners, plusserver initiated the development of a possible technical substructure of Gaia-X in 2019: the open source project "Sovereign Cloud Stack". The pluscloud open, one of the first open source clouds, was created on its basis.

Digital sovereignty is also the focus of another alliance which plusserver supports as an infrastructure partner: Launched by three open source manufacturers, the "Sovereign Productivity Suite" aims to support public administration with an alternative, open source-based software suite for data protection-compliant digitalization.

plusserver is based in Cologne and employs around 400 people at six locations.
