The award winners were selected by an independent jury headed by Prof. Dr. Peter Radgen. Experts from various fields were recruited for the jury of the GDA Young Talent Award - GDA would like to thank the jury members for their commitment.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Radgen
Chair of Energy Efficiency at the Institute of Energy Economics and Rational Energy Use (IER) | University of Stuttgart

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Radgen holds the Chair of Energy Efficiency at the Institute of Energy Economics and Rational Energy Use (IER) at the University of Stuttgart and is a board member of the German Data Center Association e.V. Peter Radgen researches and teaches in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability in data centers and industry. He pays particular attention to the potentials in the area of cross-cutting technologies and waste heat utilization.

Marcus Busch
Managing Director | Leaseweb Deutschland

Marcus Busch has been Managing Director of Leaseweb Deutschland GmbH since 2019. His focus is in particular on building and maintaining customer and partner relationships, ensuring service quality and growth on a regional and international level. Previously, Marcus Busch held management positions in the global telecommunications/digital business for more than 20 years, including Verizon, T-Systems and Media Broadcast. He has proven expertise and a broad network in the national and international telecommunications and IT business as well as in the creation of strategic partnerships. Marcus Busch studied business administration at the University of Essen, where he graduated in 1994.

Inga Janović
Business editor | Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.)

Inga Janović, is a trained carpenter, studied political science and is a trained editor. She has been working for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) since May 2018. As a member of the Rhine-Main business editorial team, Inga Janović is responsible for Metropol magazine, F.A.Z.'s business magazine for the Rhine-Main region. She regularly reports on current developments at the data center location Frankfurt.

Volker Ludwig
Vice President and Managing Director DACH | Digital Realty

Volker Ludwig is Senior Vice President and Managing Director DACH at Digital Realty. He has more than 20 years of experience in the data center industry. Prior to his leadership position at Digital Realty, he was CEO of Mainova WebHouse and as Senior Vice President and member of the Executive Management Team at e-shelter / NTT Global Data Centers responsible for sales and marketing in the EMEA region

Najat Messaoud
Senior Director | Azure Business Group

Najat Messaoud, Senior Director Azure Business Group, is responsible for the growth of the Azure Solution Business in Germany across the Data & AI and App & Infra portfolio. She is responsible for overall go-to-market, strategic planning, shaping growth initiatives and supporting customers and partners. Najat Messaoud is a member of the German Leadership Team, Head of Women in Tech and member of the Global Cloud Leadership Team.

Dr. Jörg Schröper
Editor in Chief | LANline magazine

Dr. Jörg Schröper holds a degree in physics with a specialization in high-temperature superconductivity and has worked as an IT journalist for more than 25 years, initially for Unix, Windows and Linux magazines. As editor-in-chief of the network trade journal LANline, he has also been responsible for the topics of IT infrastructure and data center technology for around 20 years.

Dr. Christian Simmendinger
Performance Engineer HPC | HPE Servers and Systems

Dr. Christian Simmendinger, Performance Engineer HPC at HPE Servers and Systems, has contributed to several European and national research projects in the areas of Theoretical Physics and High Performance Computing. In 2013, he received the Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize for his contributions to the GPI/GASPI parallel programming model focused on exascale computing. Beyond parallel programming models, he made contributions to topics ranging from machine learning on numerically generated data to power management for large-scale HPC systems.

Ruth Welter 
Vice President Global Strategic Alliances | Colt Technology Services

As Vice President Global Strategic Alliances at Colt Technology Services, Ruth Welter is responsible for the strategy and execution of all global sales activities with telcos, resellers, system integrators and market partners who use Colt's infrastructures and services to build everything from their own network resources to managed end-customer offerings. With a focus on network and voice services, as well as innovative technologies around cloud and software-based services, Colt helps its market partners respond quickly to market trends.
