With the addition of the Federal Information Technology Center, the network of the German Datacenter Association expands to include the central IT service provider for the federal administration.

With over 4,100 employees across twelve locations nationwide, ITZBund, as a service provider, assists in requirement analyses and offers a wide range of services to client authorities, covering conception, consultation, development, and the operation of IT solutions. This includes various sectors such as transportation, customs, finance, taxation, personnel, statistics, internal security, asylum, and integration, aiming to strengthen the digital transformation and the economic and innovation landscape of Germany.

„As the central IT service provider for the federal government, it is important for us to engage in an overarching, international exchange with other data center operators as well as the companies involved in order to gain new impetus for the digitization of Germany. Sustainability and green IT have a very high priority“, explains Alexander Heinrich, Head of Department VI Infrastructure Operations, ITZBund. „We look forward to working with GDA and the participating companies to develop paths to the future in which sustainability and digitization go hand in hand. We want to raise the profile of the industry in society and politics in order to keep Germany and Europe attractive as a location for IT service providers.“

"With the integration of ITZBund, the GDA network expands in the areas of eGovernment computing, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and data management," says GDA Chairwoman Anna Klaft. "This facilitated knowledge transfer will contribute further and comprehensively to the resilience and efficiency of our digital landscape in Germany."
