Cloud computing, the use of waste heat, GDPR requirements for DC operators, expansion of the fibre-optic network in DE and IT requirements for 5G will all be covered in 30-minute presentations at the GDA Kickstart event at the University of Stuttgart.

Save the Date! “GDA Kickstart” on 13/11/2018, Stuttgart

The welcome address by Simone Rehm, Prorector for Information technology (CIO) at the University of Stuttgart, at 2:00 PM will be followed by a lecture on High Performance Computing in the Cloud by Michael Gienger, High-Performance Computing Center, Stuttgart, University of Stuttgart.

The presentation by Dr Jens Struckmeier, CLOUD & HEAT Technologies GmbH, Dresden, deals with the Use of Waste Heat in Data Centres.

Harry Schnabel, Initiator and CEO of the GERMAN DATACENTER ASSOCIATION (GDA) e.V., Frankfurt, will be holding a presentation on the Objective, Purpose and Nature of the GDA.

After the coffee break, more IT experts will cover the topics of Cloud Computing for Industry, Requirements from the GDPR for DC Operators, IT Requirements for 5G as well as the Expansion of the Fibre-Optic Networks in Germany.

In the lead-up to the event, a maximum of two groups of 20 persons each will have the opportunity to visit the High-Performance Computing Center, Stuttgart (HLRS) and the CAVE Visualisation Environment between 12:30 and 1:30 PM.

After the lecture programme, from 6:30 PM, the Snack Bar will provide space for in-depth discussions, knowledge sharing and networking.
