Gemeinde Garrel

Garrel – the municipality with "Heart and Mind" – is located in the district of Cloppenburg, between the Weser and Ems rivers, 28 km south of the city of Oldenburg and 65 km west of the Hanseatic city of Bremen.

With its strategic advantage in sustainable offshore energy at the Garrel-Ost substation, the municipality of Garrel is driving the development of an innovative energy and industrial park. The establishment of energy sector companies and energy-intensive businesses is seen as a new opportunity to further develop the existing economic location. As mayor, I welcome the interest of the data center industry in establishing an IT campus. Our membership in the GDA provides us with a strong network and valuable exchange of experience.
