GDA welcomes DATA CASTLE as new member

DATA CASTLE develops, plans, builds and operates energy-efficient and highly available data centers at central locations in Germany. The company aims to develop a leading green data center platform in Germany.

To this end, the team of experienced data center experts balances the three most important, correlating factors – energy efficiency, cost and availability – and develops customized colocation solutions, both for corporate customers and hyperscalers.

Headquartered in Munich, DATA CASTLE is a joint venture between DCD Data Center Developers, a German specialist developer of colocation and hyperscale data centers, and Angelo Gordon, a globally active investment company from the USA. Thus, under the DATA CASTLE umbrella, extensive knowledge of the data center industry and comprehensive expertise in value-add real estate come together to identify and transform well-located properties.

“For DATA CASTLE, active participation in the GDA is an important building block for the continuous development of the data center industry in Germany,” says Dr. Christopher Stief, Co-Founder and CEO at DATA CASTLE. “As a developer and operator of colocation data centers in the German market, we strive to bring the importance of data centers into focus, especially in connection with sustainability.”

"In times of land scarcity but also in terms of sustainable urban development, the transformation of industrial brownfield land is gaining importance for the industry. We are pleased to know that with DATA CASTLE we have a developer in our ranks who, in addition to the sustainable development of data centers "on greenfield sites", also pays attention to brownfield transformations", welcomes Anna Klaft, CEO of the German Datacenter Association, the decision of DATA CASTLE to join the GDA.

The team of DATA CASTLE would like to actively contribute to the strategic processing of core topics of GDA in the think tanks. In addition to participating in the competence groups, Christian Kallenbach, VP Sales & Marketing at DATA CASTLE, is also involved in the GDA Advisory Board.
