For the data center industry, the firm focuses on providing support for planning and permitting processes. The Berlin team takes the lead in advising project developers, investors, and operators, as well as municipalities and public contracting authorities.

Whether a data center is built at a particular location depends on planning regulations and grid connectivity. We have successfully guided projects with more than 1.5 GW of connected capacity through the regulatory process and understand the challenges involved. We are bringing this experience to the GDA, especially now that the framework conditions for the industry are changing. Through our work with the association and in the legislative process, we aim to help ensure that the regulatory framework for the planning, approval, and operation of data centers becomes more practical.
