GDA welcomes Hug Engineering as a partner

Once again, the network of partners of the German Datacenter Association expands with the addition of an expert company: Hug Engineering produces exhaust gas purification systems for Diesel and gas engines used in used in marine, power generation and mobile applications - and as emergency gensets in data centers.

„To protect data from loss or deletion, for example in the event of a power supply blackout, data centers are backed up with off-grid generators, which in many cases are powered by Diesel engines. The environmentally friendly and regulation-compliant operation of such aggregates both during emergency operation and periodic testing often poses a design and financial challenge,“ said Matthias Hanschke, Director Sales at Hug Engineering.

„Data centers can make an important contribution to achieving climate targets. GDA and its members want to contribute actively to green digitization and are working on various fronts to this end,“ said Anna Klaft, Chairwoman of German Datacenter Association. „We look forward to exchanging ideas with Hug Engineering on this topic - and would be happy to do so in the Energy Efficiency / Sustainability competence group of our GDA Think Tank.“

As one of the few manufacturers in the world, Hug Engineering develops, designs, and produces all key components in-house and is setting new benchmarks in exhaust gas after-treatment for engines running on both traditional and renewable fuels. The company’s global distribution network guarantees constant and prompt support in terms of sales, repair, spare parts, and product servicing. The products are compliant with the major regulations, such as, BImSchV, EU stage V, IMO Tier III and EPA T4f and local regulations such as specific air permits.

„We are looking forward to joining the GDA and bringing almost 40 years of experience in the market, to increase awareness and inform on the impact of equipping data centers with emergency gensets. All together we can find solutions to make the power usage of the industry cleaner,“ said Matthias Hanschke.
