GDA welcomes TÜViT as a new member

Founded in 1995 with headquarters in Essen, TÜViT is a company of the TÜV NORD GROUP - one of the world's largest technology service providers with more than 14,000 employees and business activities in 100 countries. Since 2001, TÜViT has carried out more than 1,500 assessment and certification projects worldwide at well-known colocation and enterprise data centers.

The company offers neutral assessments and provides support in all important phases of the data center lifecycle, such as conception, design, construction, commissioning and operation. The basis for this are TÜViT's own developed criteria catalogs, such as the TSI.STANDARD (Trusted Site Infrastructure) or the TSE.STANDARD (Trusted Site Energy Efficiency), which are often used as a design basis in many new facility construction projects.

The catalogs have always been subject to continuous further development with the aim of consistently reflecting the state of the art and the current status of international norms. Thus, TÜViT has also dispatched three technical experts to actively support the development of the EN 50600 and ISO 22237 standards.

"The German data center market needs a strong representation of interests, taking into account all related facets," says Joachim Faulhaber, Product Manager & Head of Data Center at TÜViT. "GDA is developing rapidly in this regard. As TÜViT, we want to contribute our comprehensive know-how and 20 years of experience as a leading neutral testing and certification institution and meaningfully complement it with the facets of assessment, confirmation, optimization and trust."

"With TÜViT, the expertise of the GDA network expands to include an expert in the assessment and certification of physical security, availability, energy efficiency and sustainability aspects of data centers of all types," says GDA Chairwoman Anna Klaft, endorsing TÜViT's decision to join the German Datacenter Association.

Above all, the new member would like to contribute to the development of new standards and norms relating to the design of data centers. In this context, the independent assessment service provider will pay particular attention to the physical security and high reliability of data centers, as well as to the topics of energy efficiency and sustainability.
