Huawei joins GDA

Huawei employs 197,000 people worldwide and is active in 170 countries with its three business units Carrier Network, Enterprise Business and Consumer Business. Huawei has been active in Germany since 2001 and employs over 2,500 people at 18 locations, including Düsseldorf, Berlin, Munich, and Bonn. Huawei's largest European research center is located in Munich.

"We are particularly pleased to have Huawei join the GDA," says Sven Spitzley, Key Account Director at Huawei Digital Power. "After successfully establishing the Digital Power division in the Asian market, the expanded focus on Western Europe and Scandinavia brings a local win-win situation. We bring special added value with our extensive product portfolio and an R&D team of over 100,000 employees. Combining innovative products from the established data center environment (UPS, lithium battery, precision air conditioning, racks, PDU) with the photovoltaic, site power (48V DC), and EV (electric mobility, charging technology) sectors sets trends in sustainability."

"As an infrastructure provider, Huawei has played a significant role in Germany's digitalisation for years. We look forward to the exchange and cooperation," GDA Chairwoman Anna Klaft welcomes the new member.

Active involvement at all levels is particularly important to Huawei in its association membership. For example, one of the popular GDA Net[t]work Lunches will be held at the Huawei site in Munich in early May.
